December 17: Awesomeness

Today was an awesome day. I woke up at 5:40 (to go to Common Cents to get a doughnut), got a shower, and straightened my hair. At approximately 8:45, West Express was singing to the mayor (see us here http://www.blackhillsfox.com/2010/12/17/Black-Hills-Fox-Hills-View
I'm the one with the black shirt and pants! ;)), and then we went to nursing homes. While we were eating at Culver's, Grandma Judy showed up! That was quite a nice surprise! At about 1:20, West Express was bowling, I got a score of 13, yes I said 13(Hey, who cares? I'm an honorary member of the "Gutter ball Club"!).. Then, I got home from "school", and Mom surprised me with movie tickets to see Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader! I was so excited! Then after watching an awesome move, we went out for tacos!
Now, don't you agree, that was a pretty awesome night!

December 15: Blogging

Wow! It's been a while since I last blogged ! I must be either running out of time, or just not have an exciting life! :) Well, on Friday, tomorrow, WE (West Express) is touring local nursing homes, then going BOWLING! It will be really fun! The only bad thing about that, is that I have to take a math test early! Ugh...

December Ninth: Concert Night!

We had a great concert, but I am SUPER tired so this won't be a real extensive blog. Whoever says that singing does not take physical strength, should be hung upside-down by their toenails! I'm going to bed now, goodnight!

My Ode to the Hymn

Angels we have heard on high, sweetly singing over the plains,

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me,
Marvelous grace, infinite grace, grace that will pardon and cleanse within,
Rock of ages cleft for me, let me hide myself in thee,

Those beautiful words, do you know where they come from? Do you know what they are? Or what they represent?
Many do not, but I have hidden them in my heart, they are always with me,
They are called hymns or songs for Christians.
They are songs of joy, of rejoicing. Songs of a Redeemer, a Savior.
To Christians they are like pure sparkling water in a world of muddy helplessness.

Those songs reach across all the nations, to all the peoples,
If a nation truly wants to get rid of a religion, get rid of their songs first.
When sung, those hymns are heard all over the world,
Every Christian should hear those songs, and hide their words in their hearts.

Songs of worship are the "glue" of Christianity,
They help us grow in faith, They keep us warm inside, like a flame burning throughout the night.
They unite us as Christians.

Hymns don't have to be pleasing to our ears, only to God's,
Hymns, after all, are not for us to enjoy, but for our Creator.
Hymns are solely for the glory of God, and we should treat them that way,

And enjoy the beautiful songs He has given us.

December Fourth: Grrrr

Well, I'm kinda bummed. Long story short, Silas was pestering me (SEE Kyra! He's not the little angel you thought he was!) to get up because we were going to go out to breakfast, so I told him to go away! And  Dad only hears "GO AWAY!" and not Silas going "GET UP". So he said that I now can not go out to breakfast. I'm going to sound like one of those animal parables, but I truly was kinda glad I didn't have to get up! I would have much rather gone out to lunch or supper... ;)

Desicion Day

This is December third...I have made a decision. I will now not feel pressured to blog everyday, because I will now blog only when I can! We had to run to Safeway because I made a poopy-pie and get a pie, but the only pie left was banana creme!
Oh well, it went okay...
